Tuna Patties are easy to make, delicious, budget friendly and full of flavor. Made with vegan tuna, breadcrumbs, scallions and a little bit of hot sauce. Prepare them and you know these are so amazing that nobody can get enough of them.
I’m sure everyone can relate that Tuna Patties are just so comforting.
Amazing to enjoy them plain or make a them part of a full meal with my Easy Pasta Salad, the Chickpea Salad, or with Cajun Fries.

What you need for Tuna Patties recipe
Besides of vegan tuna you will need the following:
Egg free mayo and oat milk: these may seem like unusual ingredients, but I tell you they are what makes the Tuna Patties so delicious by giving them a juicy and amazing texture.
Mustard, hot sauce and garlic add just just the right amount of tang and generally a lot of flavor.
I use scallions instead of onions because they are milder.
Panko breadcrumbs give the patties stability and a great crunch. You can absolutely use any breadcrumbs that you like or make your own from any bread.
You can use any oil you want, but I find avocado or olive oil best.
How to make Tuna Patties
Prepare the tuna mixture
Frist remove the tuna from the cans and drain any excess liquid.
Transfer to a large mixing bowl and add mayo, mustard, garlic, scallions, breadcrumbs, milk, hot sauce. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Mix everything together until well combined.
Form patties
From the mixture, form 5 equal patties. Make sure they hold together well and that they are not too thick.
Cook patties
Add oil to a pan and heat it up.
When hot, cook Tuna Patties on medium heat for around 3 minutes on each side. Serve with your favorite sauce.
Tips and tricks for Tuna Patties
Leftovers can be stored covered in the fridge for around 5 days.
You see I form 5 equal patties which are on the bigger side. You can also make smaller patties if you is that what you prefer.
For freezing: let Tuna Patties cool completely. Store in a freezer friendly container or ziploc bag for around 3 months.
For meal prep: uncooked patties can be stored in the fridge for around 2 days.

Tuna Patties

Ingredients
- 1 lb vegan tuna
- 2 Tbs egg free mayo
- 2 cloves garlic, pressed
- 2 tsp mustard
- 1/4 cup oat milk
- 3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 tsp hot sauce
- 3 scallions, finely chopped
- 4 Tbs oil
- salt, pepper to taste.
Instructions
- Remove the tuna from the cans. If there is too much liquid, make sure to drain it first.
- Take a large mixing bowl and combine the tune with mayo, mustard, garlic, scallions, breadcrumbs, milk, hot sauce. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Form 5 equally sized patties from the mixture.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and cook salmon patties for around 3 minutes from each side. Serve and enjoy.
Notes
- Leftovers will be good in the fridge for around 5 days when stored covered.

- Uncooked patties can be frozen as a single layer on a baking sheet. Put them in the freezer for around 2 hours, then store in a container. This will last best for around 1 month.
