Reasons to make this Tuna Melt

I share two methods: one in a skillet and one in the oven. So you can decide for yourself which cooking method you want to try. Both are great and lead to equally satisfying results.

If you love my Tuna Salad you will not get enough of this Tuna Melt, because there is flavor in each and every bite from additional chili flakes and pickles, which make everything so great.

Also a great all night dinner that is perfect even for midnight cravings.

Let me show you how easy everything comes together, so you can fast make it easily at home.

What you need for this Tuna Melt recipe

Plant based tuna tastes exactly like tuna and you can it them in any supermarkets in cans. You can find it in water or oil, both are great. But with oil it has even more flavor. Of course if you do fish tuna, this also works great so feel free to use your favorite.

Egg free mayo and lemon juice make the our creamy base to the filling. Together they give the feeling a lot of richness, creaminess and a good tang from lemon juice.

Pickles, red onions, celery, and capers add a great crunch, freshness and flavor to the mixture that goes on the sandwich.

Garlic, dill, parsley are a great mix for flavor. I use fresh garlic, but you can use powder. I also add dill and parsley and I find them amazing for adding a delicious flavor like I do in my Ranch Dip just without chives.

First steps of making the Tuna Melt: slices of bred on a pan with cheese on top, then Tuna Salad added.

Tomatoes are a simple and delicious topping and vegan cheddar adds a lot of great cheesy flavor and is melted to perfection so satisfying. It has the same vibe like you know from a grilled cheese sandwich.

Bread: I like to use a rustic white bread and of course this Tune Melt will work with any bread you like.

Tomato slices are given onto the sandwiches in the pan, then followed by more vegan cheese.
