I have to admit that there are two ingredients that I always store in my pantry: sriracha and tahini.

There was that point I tell you, at a wimp, that I’ve got the idea to combine tahini and sriracha. And what I can tell you: it turned out so delicious.

Seriously this is what I ate at least 4 or 5 times a week, because it is something so simple and can be whipped together in no time.

It is a combination, no matter which time of the day it is, there is always time for a plate of these Sriracha Noodles.

You will know what I’m talking about once you try it.

The secret that makes these noodles so creamy is one unexpected ingredient: pasta water. Just make sure it is hot, because it makes this creamy pasta sauce so rich, creamy and texture perfect. Besides that, it also adds flavor from the pasta which is cooked in the water.

You can use your favorite pasta, anything will work. Just make sure to reserve some hot pasta water.

What’s in this creamy Sriracha sauce

You will need the following ingredients:

  • Sriracha
  • Tahini
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Smoked paprika

What you for these Sriracha noodles:

  • Pasta
  • Pasta water

Reserved pasta water is mixed with the tahini mixture to make the sriracha sauce.

How to make Sriracha Noodles

First cook the pasta. In a large pot, bring water to a boil with a pinch of salt.

Add pasta and cook according to the package directions. Just around 5 minutes before pasta is ready, reserve 1/2 cup of the hot pasta water.

Add sriracha, tahini, garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika and a pinch of salt and pepper to a large mixing bowl. Whisk in the hot pasta water until the sauce is creamy.

When the pasta is ready, drain and add to the bowl. Combine pasta with the sauce. Serve on plates or in bowls.

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for around 1 week, taste delicious even cold.

Freezing:

These Sriracha Noodles can be frozen, stored in a freezer friendly container.

It will last for 4 months. Thaw completely, warm on low heat on the stove, or use your microwave.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb pasta (use gf, if needed)
  • 1/2 cup hot pasta water
  • 2 Tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 cup tahini paste
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • salt, pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, bring water to a boil with a pinch of salt. Add pasta and cook according to the package directions. Just around 5 minutes before pasta is ready, reserve 1/2 cup of the hot pasta water.
