- Catalina dressing
- Chili powder
- Cumin
What you need for this Southwest Salad
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes
- Corn
- Avocado
- Catalina dressing
- Cumin + chili powder
How to make Southwest Salad
Combine the prepared Catalina dressing with cumin and chili powder in a small bowl, then set aside.
In a large bowl mix lettuce with black beans, tomatoes, corn, and avocado. Season with an extra pinch of salt and pepper to your taste.
Next give the dressing over it and enjoy. Serve on plates or in bowls.
It makes such an amazing salad that you can enjoy any time which is so fast, easy weeknight meals.
Extra tips
Meal prep: start with a little bit of southwest dressing, toss and just before serving give the rest over it. Flavors will more tasty like this.

Ingredients
- 4 cups lettuce mix
- 1 tomato, cubed
- 1 avocado, cubed
- 15 oz black beans, drained
- 1/2 cup corn, drained
Southwest Dressing
- 1/2 batch Catalina Dressing
- 1 Tbsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
Instructions
- Combine the prepared Catalina dressing with cumin and chili powder in a small bowl, then set aside.
- In a large bowl mix lettuce with black beans, tomatoes, corn, and avocado. Season with an extra pinch of salt and pepper to your taste.
- Next give the dressing over it and enjoy. Serve on plates or in bowls.

I’ve purchased all the ingredients, but I don’t see the measurements for the chili powder or the cumin. I’m going to guess at what I need to use from what I see in Renee’s comment.

Hi Jennifer! Feel free to use 1 tbs cumin and 1/2 tsp chili powder, but feel free to just according to your own preferences. You can add more or less. Hope that helps.

FANTASTIC! I left the black beans off as I served it with black bean soup. the Catalina dressing is out of this world! Both of these are a keeper!

In you ingredient list it calls for 1/2 Tsp. Chili cumin+ 1 Tbs. cumin. Is the 1/2 tsp. Chili cumin supposed to be 1/2 tsp. Chili powder or 1/2 tsp. Cumin? How much chili powder?
