What is poppy seed dressing made of?

Poppy seed dressing ingredients:

Vegan mayo is the creamy base for our dressing. This ingredient adds lots of creaminess and a rich body. It is our foundation and starting point to add the other ingredients.

Oat milk: I use it to thin this poppy seed dressing, but you can use any milk. Almond, soy, cashew it will turns out great any time.

Poppy seeds add a slightly nutty and so delicious flavor. I used them the first time in my Poppy Seed Chicken and from there I know these are just the ticket to an amazing meal.

Olive oil adds a savory component to the dressing.

All ingredients for of the Poppy Seed Dressing are given into a white mixing bowl.

We add vinegar to the Poppy Seed Dressing for a tangy flavor, but lemon juice could also do the trick. But after testing vinegar for me was the clear winner.

I use a small amount of mustard to add more flavor in the final result.

Sugar is here to balance up the other tangy and savory flavors. It adds a bit of sweetness, so good.

Shallots add texture and I chop them really finely before adding. It has an onion like flavor which isn’t as dominant as onions can be.
