How to make Nacho Fries

Preheat oven to 410°F and set a baking sheet with parchment paper aside.

Wash and peel your potatoes, cut them finger thick and add them to a large bowl.

Add 2 Tbsp olive oil, 2 Tbsp taco seasoning, garlic powder, and season with a pinch salt and pepper. Mix everything with a spatula until well combined. Bake for 40 minutes, at half time around 20 minutes turn your fries.

Finally, taco meat and extra fresh toppings are added.

In the meantime prepare the Nacho sauce. Heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a saucepan or casserole.

Add flour, slowly add almond milk and vegan cheese to that sauce. Finally add garlic powder and season with a pinch salt and pepper.

Cook until a thick and creamy consistency is reached. Turn temperature to very low so the sauce will be warm when serving with fries.

For the preparation of the taco meat, heat 1 Tbsp olive oil in a pan. Add vegan ground beef, fry for around 4 minutes and add taco seasoning, salt and pepper. Set aside.

By now the fries should be done. Serve them on plates or in bowls with a good amount of taco meat, Nacho sauce and toppings like scallions, vegan sour cream, jalapeños and tomatoes.

Toppings will last in the fridge for around 2 days. Leftover nacho sauce will last in the fridge for around 7 days and last but not least taco meat will remain good for 4 days.

Fries should be enjoyed always fresh from the oven, otherwise the taste will not as delicious as promised.

  • 4 lbs russet potatoes, cut finger thick and peeled
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder

For the Nacho Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp flour (use gf If needed)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 5 oz vegan cheddar shreds
  • 1 dash hot sauce
  • salt, pepper to taste

For the taco meat:

  • 7 oz vegan ground beef
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp taco seasoning
  • salt, pepper to taste

Toppings:

  • 2 Tbsp vegan sour cream
  • 3 scallions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup jalapeños, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup freshly chopped tomatoes
