My Lemon Banana Cream Pie is seriously the best dessert I ever made. With just 6 ingredients and in 3 easy steps you can make this dream come true.
I know it’s not a secret that there are many fantastic banana cream pie recipes out there. So in principle, nothing is new about this here. Vegan or not – no big surprise here, friends.
But if you have followed my blog for a bit you know this will not just be another banana cream pie recipe. Rather you know it will be special.
The main difference is that you can prepare my recipe from only just 6 ingredients, no more or anything unusual – and you only need 3 easy steps.
For now we’re heading to the best part that makes this new addition to my list of Dessert & Cake recipes so special. It is, of course, the lemon.
Did you ever realize that lemon fits so pretty amazingly to bananas? Yes, the zesty lemon flavor takes a banana cream pie to the next level. So I hope you come on board when I just say that this will be the best banana cream pie that you ever ate.
It’s my promise! I know that some of the banana cream pie recipes turn out a bit bland or require too complicated steps and ingredients. Not this one! And it is even vegan and gluten free.
When I created this recipe, I just wanted to have it easy, approachable, and flavorful at the same time. Exactly all those things I was missing. So this is my version, and I worked a lot on this recipe.
Of course, you might think sure, he was working a lot on this recipe -it’s just 6 ingredients, 3 easy steps easy game as always nothing complicated here, so what is he working on.
True, friends, the result is easy for sure but the process to create such an recipe is difficult. Especially because I want to make one with so few ingredients and easy steps but with no lack of flavor!
The situation is different. 6 ingredients, 3 easy steps, vegan and gluten free that’s the selling point here. I hope you all join me on the Lemon Banana Cream Pie wagon.
It’s a stunner, easy, creamy, drool-worthy, remarkable, lemony, refreshing, addictive, fresh, and so delicious.
Let me show you how can make this beauty!
First hop over to a blender or food processor and make the dough: combine Brazil nuts, Medjool dates, lemon juice and zest, and process until well combined.
Next comes the preparation of the filling. Again, you’ll need a blender or food processor. Combine cashews, vegan cream cheese, Medjool dates, lemon juice, zest, and water.
Final assembly of the cream pie is easy play as always: press dough into a 7 inch springform, next spread the filling over, and garnish with banana slices. Refrigerate until serving or enjoy immediately – up to you.
One word about the lemon zest. I use organic lemons so I can also safely use the zest and there is no need to buy some extra zest. If you’re a lazy kid for sure you can just buy the zest and there is no need to peel it from the lemons.
When buying lemon zest please make sure it’s organic, most other non organic lemon zest contains some preservatives or additives and you can be sure those are processed which means there is no nutrition in there.
It’s just a package with artificial flavors which are made in a factory but there isn’t any goodness included from the lemon here.

Hi Kevin! The glaze on top is a vegan caramel sauce. Hope that helps.

I was really happy with how my first ever banana cream pie came out - thank you for this beautiful recipe! The magic of lemons!! Usually I would be deterred from vegan dessert recipes that use nuts and dates because they are so commonly used in vegan baking and I find these too sweet and too strong a flavour andand not a substitute for regular flavoured baking, but the lemon in this really made it delectable! We crushed some candied walnuts over it and served with a generous amount of maple syrup. :)

Sounds delicious! What would be a good substitute for cashews? I am allergic.

Hi Kathy! Try blanched almonds, brazil, or macadamia nuts. Make sure to use nuts without any salt. Also you can try a mix of these nuts.

What can I use instead of vegan cream cheese. I cannot find a clean vegan cream cheese.

Looks so creamy and delicious Florian! I'm not really a banana fan, but I AM a cream cheese fan and I love that you gave the typical banana cream pie a twist by adding cream cheese in it. That must add a lovely tang and addicting flavor and texture! Totally creamy and perfect for the holidays or anytime of the year! Love that you added both lemon flavor in the crust and the filling, YUMMY!
