How to make French Onion Dip

Caramelizing the onions

We start with caramelizing the onions. Make sure they are finely diced. Heat olive oil in a skillet, then add onions and fry them for around 20 minutes on medium heat until they are caramelized and golden browned. Season with a pinch salt and pepper, allow to cool.

Preparing the creamy mixture

Next combine vegan mayo, vegan sour cream, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl. Mix with a spatula, again season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Combining the dip

Finally add 3/4 of the onions into the sour cream mixture and mix with a spatula again. If you want, transfer to another serving bowl, and garnish with the remaining onions.

Enjoy immediately or refrigerate. Flavors will be even better and most amazing, if you let the dip sit overnight.

This is such an amazing dip that you can prepare in advance for 4 days, which is great for meal prep or to bring it on parties, get togethers and much more.

But I can totally see this as a full dinner or lunch, just so versatile. I can imagine it even over leftover pasta!
