More techniques

Grating

If you don’t have a food processor, no problem. Just grate the broccoli with the coarse side of your grater. Please make always sure to use raw broccoli, cooked broccoli won’t work.

In the blender

You can even use your blender. Put broccoli florets in it and use the pulse function or simply a 30 second setting. Mix until you have the desired texture. Depending on the size of your machine, make the rice in batches.

Serve the Broccoli Rice in a bowl.

Chopping

If a knife is the only tool you have on hand, simply chop the florets in small and very fine pieces.  What you will get is a chunkier texture but it is absolutely delicious as well.

Microwave

Add the broccoli rice in a heatproof dish with a lid on top. There is no need to add any fat. Microwave for 3 minutes on high, or until it has the right texture. Season with salt and pepper and mix in garlic.

Be sure this Broccoli Rice is delicious plain or sprinkled with some Yum Yum Sauce or my Thai Peanut Sauce with Basil.

Meal prep: you can prepare this dish in advance and store it in an airtight container for around 3 days in the fridge.

Can I freeze this? You absolutely can, but I would recommend thawing it completely before using. If needed, drain any excess liquid and then use one of my techniques to prepare it.
