Reasons to love this Avocado Salad
This salad has simple ingredients, but the result will be impressive. It is so versatile and is a great option for dinner, lunch or meal prep.
Flavors are on point: just the dressing alone is out of this world amazing.
Let me tell you that this salad is really amazing enjoyed on its own. But if you do want some suggestions what to serve with Avocado Salad, I’d say go with Garlic Fries, a Grilled Cheese Sandwich, a portion of Greek Chicken, maybe Sauteed Mushrooms or even Teriyaki Salmon. You see, the possibilities are endless.
Unlike any other avocado salad recipe, I don’t use cilantro, yet I use a wonderful combination of flavors that you and your family will enjoy big time.
What you need for this Avocado Salad Recipe
The easy dressing has everything that tastes amazing, but you wouldn’t believe how delicious and easy to make the final result is.
Avocados: I use a good amount of avocados and this makes a wonderful texture. Adds a natural creaminess and from the first bite you will know it is a keeper.
Red onions are my choice for this salad, but you can use regular onions or shallots if you like. Red onions are milder than regular onions so they wouldn’t be a prominent flavor.
Tomatoes, ripe, juicy and delicious. Makes a great contrast to the other ingredients.
Finally, cucumbers add a nice crunch and freshness. Another layering of texture.
For the dressing I use: olive oil, chives, basil, garlic, lemon juice, chili flakes and oregano. And let me tell the result is just wow.
So aromatic, amazing, fresh and delicious. With it, the Avocado Salad tastes like in a fancy restaurant, because flavors are complex, yet so on point. No need for any cilantro this dressing is everything that is wonderful. Each flavor component compliments the other, yes.

Tips and tricks
Leftovers are great for 2 days, but Avocado Salad tastes best fresh.
How do you keep avocados from turning brown in your salad?
The lemon juice in the dressing really prevents that avocados turn brown into salads. It is a great salad that helps everything will stay fresh and delicious. Another technique to prevent avocados turning brown in salads is to place your sliced avocados in a water bath with cold water. Simply fill a bowl with water and place avocados, but not more than 4 hours. It will help to keep your avocados fresh.
How can we tell a avocado is ripe?
Press the avocado lightly with your fingers. If it feels slightly soft, you know it is ripe and ready to eat. Another indicator is to pull the small steam from your avocado and if you see a yellow or green color, you know it is ripe and delicious.
