Why does chicken and spinach go well with Alfredo sauce
Chicken and spinach complement Alfredo sauce exceptionally well due to their distinct textures and flavors. The tender and savory notes of cooked chicken add a hearty and satisfying element, while the mild sweetness and earthiness of spinach contribute a fresh and vibrant layer.
Together, they create a harmonious balance that not only enhances the creaminess of the Alfredo sauce but also provides a delightful contrast, making each bite a deliciously well-rounded experience.
So why not make this not in combination with pasta but in an amazing Alfredo Pizza with Chicken and Spinach!
Ingredients needed to make Alfredo Pizza
The recipe requires one store-bought pizza dough, a cup of vegan Alfredo sauce, two cloves of fresh garlic, five ounces of plant-based chicken, three-fourth cup of fresh spinach, and four ounces of dairy-free mozzarella cheese.
The dough serves as the base of the pizza, while the Alfredo sauce adds a creamy and rich flavor to the dish. The garlic adds a savory and pungent taste, while the plant-based chicken provides a meaty texture and protein.
Fresh spinach adds a refreshing taste to the pizza, and lastly, the dairy-free mozzarella cheese completes the dish with its melted goodness.
How to make homemade Alfredo sauce
As you can see in the recipe guide, I use a jar of Alfredo sauce for this chicken Alfredo pizza recipe.
If you want to make it yourself instead, I have a great recipe for a creamy homemade Alfredo sauce. It is made with simple ingredients, creamy, and easy to make. Everything comes together in around 10 minutes and is family-approved. What makes it stand out is the combination of roasted garlic and onions which you can easily prepare in a pan without any oven. We use coconut milk, vegan butter, and vegan cream cheese, which will provide the most amazing creaminess without heavy cream.
Alternatives to the creamy Alfredo sauce are my Keto Alfredo Sauce or the Best Spicy Alfredo Sauce Recipe [easy, vegan].
Any of these will make a delicious Chicken Alfredo Pizza!
How to Make Chicken and Spinach Alfredo Pizza
If you’re looking for a delicious and satisfying meal, you can’t go wrong with chicken and spinach Alfredo pizza. To get started, heat oven to 400 F. Next, place an 11-inch round pizza crust in a baking sheet with parchment paper in the oven and pre-bake it for 6 minutes. This will give your crust a deliciously crispy base that will hold up to all your toppings.
While the crust is baking, pre-cook the vegan chicken. Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan, then add chicken bits. Season with salt and black pepper, and let cook for about 5 minutes on medium heat.
Then, add the spinach and season with freshly pressed garlic. Turn off the heat, and just let the spinach wilt.
Once your crust is done, remove it from the oven and start building your pizza. Spread Alfredo sauce generously over the crust. Next, add half of the mozzarella cheese, followed by the delicious cooked chicken & spinach. Finally, add the remaining mozzarella cheese.
Bake your pizza for an additional 6 minutes to melt the cheese and cook the toppings until the top is golden brown. This will ensure that your pizza is cooked to perfection, with a crispy crust and a saucy, creamy topping.
Keep in mind that baking times may vary depending on whether you use a pre-made crust or make your own.
Variations of Alfredo Pizza and storage instructions
Alfredo pizza can be made even more scrumptious by sprinkling some extra parmesan cheese on top or adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to give it some heat.
When it comes to storing leftover pizza, make sure to place it in an airtight container and keep it in the fridge. Even though it’s a leftover, the flavors can still develop and make it even tastier the next day. You can either enjoy it cold or reheat it in the oven for a few minutes until it’s warmed through and the cheese is melted to perfection.
