What you need for this Boston Baked Beans recipe
- White beans
- Molasses
- Maple syrup
- Ketchup
- Onion
- Mustard
Optionally add:
- Smoked tofu
- Vegan Worchester Sauce
How to make Boston Baked Beans
Preheat oven to 420°F.
Heat a bit of oil or vegetable broth for oil free cooking. Add diced onions and fry them for 2 minutes, then also add the white beans, ketchup, maple syrup, mustard, optional Worchester Sauce and smoked tofu. Mix well, season with salt and pepper.
If you have a Dutch oven, put them in the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Otherwise transfer the beans to a casserole.
Serve in bowls or on plates. Enjoy!

Tips for storage and variations
Can I freeze these Boston Baked Beans? I haven’t tried that before, but I would say you can absolutely do this. Just make sure to thaw them before heating. For heating you can warm the beans on the stove on medium heat until warm or into the oven for 30 minutes at 350°F.
How long can I store Boston baked beans? In fridge they will stay fresh for 4 days.
Can I make slow cooker baked beans? Just add all the ingredients in your slow cooker and set a timer when it should be done.

- 2 cans white beans
- 3 Tbs Molasses
- 4 Tbs Maple syrup
- 1 tsp Mustard
- 1 cup Ketchup
- 1 Onion
- salt pepper to taste

- 1/4 cup vegan Worchester sauce
- 5 oz smoked tofu
